How long did it take for you to sell your first house?
Question to all Real-Estate Agents or people who know one… how long did it take to sell your first house after becoming licensed?
I am getting ready to attend Real-Estate school and should hopefully be licensed at the end of January. I talked with a few people from the company I plan on working with after I get my license… and one of them said she started 5 months ago and has already sold 11 houses. BUT… I have read many other places that many people don’t sell their first house until 6 months in!
Keep in mind I will be working under one of the top real-estate agents in the country… do you think the training he gives me will help me start selling houses quicker than say someone who is going into it alone? Thanks
More training will always help but remember it depends on you obtaining buyers to look at homes or listings for people to buy.
I took me a short time to obtain listings thru friends and co-workers but a long time to sell my first home and it was not one of my listings since the owners insisted on selling prices that were too high despite my recommendations.
I did rent alot of homes, 8 in 1 1/2 years and sold 3 in the same amount of time. My first sale was 1 year after getting licensed. Also, I had the Michigan economy to deal with. Got my license in Fall 2007.
Keep in mind, I am not a real hard worker at this. If you put in alot of effort, you will see results quicker.
I have to say though that I have never heard of any new agent selling 11 homes in 5 months. May be a small amount of BS there.
